One of the most unique and anticipated cultural events of 2012! Mercury Opera and Downtown Calgary present ALLEY OOP - An Operascape: An operatic performance pushing the boundaries of contemporary opera to a place few go to seek out culture, the street.

Join singers, musicians, dancers and even a stilt walker as they ignite the streets of downtown Calgary with music and movement.

The unconventional party starts with a sampling of light bites at host businesses along Stephen Avenue including Coppeneur and Home Tasting Room, before you are ushered to the alley at sundown for a mini opera performance of some of the genres greatest hits. The evening wraps up with a prohibition-themed after party with the performers.

All the world's a stage, even back alleys downtown.
