TILMAN SANDVOSS, VIOLA

Tilman Sandvoss is an accomplished violist who currently studies with renowned Canadian violist Steven Dann at the Glenn Gould School. Tilman has had the privilege of working with many world renowned musicians including Roberto Diaz, Kim Kashkashian, Sharon Wei and Gerald Stanick, to name a few. Sandvoss was a member of several Mount Royal Conservatory Academy ensembles and Orchestras where he was the Principal Violist of the Conservatory Sinfonia for three years, and the Principal Violist of the Calgary Youth Orchestra for two. Tilman has won gold awards in the Alberta music Festivals and most recently was a two-time winner of the Calgary Pro Musica Society, Dick Matthews YADP Scholarship. He has appeared as a soloist with the Kensington Sinfonia and Bishop Carroll’s Virtuosi Strings. Tilman’s viola playing has taken him across Canada, to Germany and the United States. He plays on a viola made by his father award winning Canadian luthier, Christopher Sandvoss.
