This program is meant to show off the unique sounds of each instrument in the trio and the intriguing combinations of oboe, clarinet and bassoon. Ibert’s trio is filled with the lightness and wit of much French music. Szekeley’s Divertimento is filled with rhythmic energy reminiscent of Hungarian folksong, and American composer Morton Gold’s Trio op. 43 is a melodic depiction of his Jewish heritage.
